Wheelchair & Scooter Rental Booking Checklist
By Mobility Rental Finder editorial · Source check: September 29, 2026 · How this guide was produced
A daily price is only one part of a rental quote. Use this checklist to get a written answer about the equipment, the full booking period and the handover. We have not tested the equipment or mystery-shopped these providers.
1. Give the provider your actual itinerary
Share the delivery address, arrival date and time, collection date and whether the rental is for a hotel stay or a cruise. Ask how the business counts rental days: a calendar day, a 24-hour period and a minimum rental period can produce different totals.
For example, Easy Go Orlando lists a three-day minimum charge for its displayed scooter models even for shorter bookings. That is a source-specific example, not a rule for all rentals.
2. Confirm the exact equipment
Ask for the model, dimensions, weight limit, transport weight, charging requirements and any assembly instructions. A product category such as “standard scooter” is not enough to establish that it fits your transport or needs. Ask the provider to explain its equipment; discuss clinical suitability with an appropriate professional.
- Is the quoted model confirmed, or may another model be supplied?
- What charger, footrests, cushions or other accessories are included?
- Can the provider demonstrate operation and give written instructions?
- What is the support number if equipment stops working?
3. Get a complete written price
Request the base rental, minimum billed period, delivery and collection charges, taxes, required extras, refundable deposit and optional damage cover separately. A deposit is money you may need upfront even if it is not part of the final cost.
Scootaround’s San Diego profile distinguishes the period behind its published wheelchair price example. Do not compare a three-day package with another provider’s single-day rate as if they were the same product.
Use the rental cost calculator only with the figures from your quote. Package discounts, actual tax treatment and refundable charges need separate confirmation.
4. Read the cancellation and return terms
Ask about cancellation deadlines, changes to travel dates, early returns, late collection and damage responsibility. If your flight is delayed, find out whom to call and whether the delivery window can move. Keep the booking confirmation and the provider’s terms.
5. Make a handover plan
Confirm who must be present, whether reception can accept equipment and when the collection must happen. Ask permission before assuming that a hotel, attraction or transport operator will store a rental. Our hotel delivery guide helps you prepare those questions.
